Cambodia is one of the least developed countries in the World. The income per person per year is less than my monthly travel budget (1.080 $ GNI per capita 2014). The so called 4th World includes 48 Countries. More than half of the african countries are part of it. There are several reasons for the negative development of this country which was one of the wealthiest countries in southeast asia before 1970. One of those reasons is the Khmer rouge regime. During this regime more than 20% of the population got murdered in a very barbaric genocide from 1975 – 1979.
