Pad Thai is a rice noodle dish served all over Thailand as street food and in restaurants. The dish has a quite interesting story, as it was used to establish Thai nationalism during World War II. The change of name from Siam to Thailand had just been conducted and the government started promoting rice noodles instead of wheat noodles. Wheat noodles were a product of Chinese influence.

Thai people don’t really eat Pad Thai.
